North Fork Falls Pack Trip Summer 2008
Dear Reader,
I began working with Equitours just before the 2011 New Year. Besides being thrilled to learn from the other ride consultants in the office, I am also excited to work for a family owned business that, for the past 30 years, has concentrated on creating a strong network of the world’s best horseback riding vacations. While I honestly didn’t think a company like this could truly exist, especially not in a rural mountain town as small as Dubois, Wyoming, I can’t imagine a more perfect setting for the job.
The opportunity to work here allows me to combine some of my life’s greatest passions- writing, adventure, world travel, and, of course, riding. I grew up and fell in love with horses and riding in the mountains of West Virginia in a very rag tag bare back, bare foot style. Most of my memories don’t involve any sort of technical skill, tack, or riding lessons. Maybe that’s the nature of true passion-for me and for many of our clients-it just happens and the work comes later.
I hope to use this blog as a forum to share with you some of our ride consultant’s experiences, our client’s adventures, and my stories, along with a bit about our horses, our rides, our riders, and our history.
