Back to the cold days please

It’s the heat of the summer in Wyoming and I’m sitting in our air-conditioned office longing for the cool days experienced in Chile where I spent almost 2 weeks on horseback late February. I was fortunate to be able to participate on our Glacier Estancia Ride, one of our flagship rides. Even though this was the end of the Chilean summer, unseasonably cold weather engulfed us the first week. So much so, that I was thankful for the roaring fires and a hot cup of tea at the end of the day, offered at each of the estancias we stayed. Admittedly, there were a few days I wasn’t sure if my bones would ever be warm again!

Almost at the end of my time in Chile, the weather changed and we experienced a few amazing days of wind free, warm weather- the norm for the end of summer! The changes were as dramatic as the countryside we rode through. An unforgettable experience which was surprisingly made all the more memorable by the weather. Now I am wishing I was back in Chile, feeling the invigorating cool breezes on top of my trusty steed instead of cooling my face with a cold face towel!

Just came back from a trip to Chile where I spent 12 days riding in the Atacama desert and Patagonia (Torres del Paine National Park) with Explora´s amazing horses. Must do.
