Biggi’s Thoughts
In reference to Sarah’s last entry regarding the recent Horse Protection Act debate, Biggi would like to say a few words.
“I don’t necessarily agree with horse slaughter, especially not for human consumption and I hope not ever to be put in a situation where I would have to consume horse meat.
I believe older horses that have served their owners should be able to live out their life in a green pasture, with not a worry in the world! I certainly will make sure that any of my horses will be with me until the day they have to be euthanized.
On the other hand I also realize that not everybody will be able to provide such pasture situation for their horses. Although it would be most human to euthanize (rather than ill treat a creature), some owners do not have the facilities, education or finances to do this. What will happen to all those horses should this ban be implemented? This is one of the reasons I do not support the bill S311.”
