Reporting back from Red Hills

I have arrived home safely from Florida where Richard and I represented Equitours at the Red Hills Horse Trials.

I had tried to do a live entry on site from TallahasseeĀ but the wireless technology failed me! Regardless, we had a very successful and productive week. The number of spectators that attended is yet to be finalized but the rumor was around 25,000.

The horses were strong, fit and beautiful, as were the riders for that matter! The riding was world class and inspirationalĀ to watch. The money that was floating around in tack, horses, trucks, trailers, clothing and various training equipment (including high demand trainers) was phenomenal. We met sponsers, Olympians, fox hunters, families, competitors, spectators, exhibitors, and vendors from all over the nation.

It was fantastic to chat to people from all walks of life and find out why they were attending the event and in what capacity horses were a part of theirs lives, if any. Do any of our readers attend events like this one? If so, what are some of your favorites?
