Richard’s new company -Faraway Safaris
Richard Fox, following in his fathers footsteps, is not only making strides in the horseback riding vacations industry, but has recently started a new safari business for non-riders. Richard’s first Faraway Safari followed shortly after his riding trip in January.
After the lovely riding trip in Laikipia I was fortunate enough to do a second safari with a good friend of mine from college. This was a departure from my normal Equitours adventures as no horses were involved. We frequently receive requests from our clients to organize tours that do not involve riding but still provide unique destinations, insightful guides, distinguished accommodations, matchless wildlife viewing, and little known cultural gems.
In conjunction with our riding outfitters in Kenya and India I have organized non-riding focused itineraries with just these philosophies at heart under the name Faraway Safaris. My second January trip was my inaugural Faraway adventure and lived up to all of my expectations. We combined stops in two gorgeous tented camps with a visit to a large Kenya ranch and a stay in an exquisite stately home built during the colonial era. Our new offerings should be ideal for Equitours clients hoping to vacation with non-riding family members.
