Riding Solo

Speaking of guests and meeting people while traveling- Equitours receives a lot of enquiries from solo travelers wondering if they will feel isolated or lonely on our riding trips. The short answer is no. The long answer is- some of our trips are more suitable than others.

Our Mayan Jungle and Tikal Ride in Belize is a perfect vacation for solo travelers. Belize is only a two hour flight from southern United States and yet you feel like you have traveled culturally across the other side of the world. You are taken care of from the moment you step off the plane and are welcomed into the home of a young family.

Aline, our accounts manager at Equitours, just returned from Belize for the second time.

“If you want to escape the cold weather of winter, I recommend that you head south to Belize. I just returned from this English-speaking country in Central America. Our Mayan Jungle and Tikal Ride is a perfect combination of riding, exploring Mayan ruins and caves and swimming at the base of waterfalls. The food is excellent and the accommodations are quaint and cozy. There is an endless educational process going on as your guide points out the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest. It is a quick flight from the US and so refreshing to enter their warm climate.”

Aline met a few solo travelers on this vacation and books plenty more for Equitours. This topic seems to be of interest to many horse riders and non riders amongst you. It would be interesting to hear any other comments regarding solo vacations you may wish to share.
