From the top of a horse.

Here at Equitours we often receive comments regarding the exceptional standard and varying breeds of horses that our outfitters provide.

“If Zen can be achieved on a horse, it is on this trip that it happens. Bernard and his staff are caring, compassionate, professional horseman that exceed your expectations at every turn. This was a truly incredible adventure”

- Connie from Michigan states.

Connie did the St. Lawrence Ride in Canada in June 2006 where they use Appaloosa, Quarter horse cross and Canadian breeds.

Horses on our rides in Italy are also a hot topic for discussion. We received a letter from Linda in Virginia who participated on the Seven Castles of Chianti Ride in May 2006. Here is an excerpt from her letter.

“Every now and then a vacation surpasses one’s wildest expectations. My Seven Castles of Chianti riding vacation from May 13-20, 2006 was a truly amazing experience. My sister, niece and I have been struggling to adapt to our real worlds ever since we have returned. I will try to explain why.

First and foremost, Jenny (owner and guide) is extraordinary. Her horsemanship is top-notch; her horses are fit, well cared for, and much loved. She provided me with a horse that perfectly matched my request- ‘pleasant, willing, and not too hot’. He carried me fearlessly and willingly over mountains, down rocky roads, and through streams. We cantered through the grapevines in vineyards, walked down old Etruscan roads, trotted through ancient, picturesque villages, all flooded with spring flowers. We crossed over some of the Chianti hills and cantered along ridgelines with breathtaking views of castles and villages”.

Horses are such as amazing way to see the world. To be high above the ground on a trusty stead with the breeze in your hair and the varying scents moving about your face and body is something unique and special that riding horses can offer. Fast enough to feel adrenaline and power yet slow enough to feel a sense of peace and connection. Each horse can provide a new emotion, sensation and experience for the rider. Combine this with great accommodations, sumptuous food and intriguing company and you have the secret to Equitours success.

Gabrielle Boiselle, a world renowned photographer from Germany portrays a fascinating selection of horses in her dynamic portfolio. Here you can witness the grandeur of the horse and see examples of the variety of breeds around the world that one can be exposed to on these rides offered by Equitours.

    Thanks John.
Some of my non-horsey friends believe I am “horse crazy” but I prefer to think of it as a passion not a diagnosed disease!
Are you are horse rider? Would love to here some of your views on any special horses you have met or riding you have done around the world or within the US.

Hi – We’re considering this “unguided ride”. We are English speaking only. Would that be a problem? p.s . there is no such thing as too horse crazy!! (My name is Cindi and I am a horseaholic….it’s been 42 days since my last lesson…)

Thanks for your reply Cindi. We offer two different unguided rides – Ireland and France. Nancie will be in contact to discuss your options.

No problem being horse crazy- my husband calls me the same thing!
