From the Wild Coast to the Tuli Safari
After the grand finale, a 6- or 7-course dinner (I lost count) and overnight at the mother of all B&B’s, we transferred back to East London. From there we caught a commercial flight to Johannesburg, and then a small commuter flight to an airstrip in the southeast corner of Botswana along the great Limpopo River known as the Tuli Block.
The contrast was remarkable; from the lush greens, vivid blues, and gentle seasalt breeze of the Wild Coast, to this immense arid savannah dotted with mopane trees.
The air was still, and dust rose in a plume behind our landrover as we drove to the safari headquarters. It felt like Africa.

I wish I had known about your horseback riding trip along the Wild Coast. My husband and I did a walking trek there a year ago, and loved it. As you say, the scenery is beautiful and the people are so friendly and accommodating. But I can imagine the thrill of galloping those beaches would sure beat trudging along on foot.
