Discounted ride in the Southwest

After having ridden all over the world, I am still endlessly enchanted by the American southwest. Our outfitter there (he operates in the immense region of southern Utah and northern Arizona) does six different rides for us, and each is absolutely unique.

Please see our site for additional information on Horseback Riding in Arizona.

Horseback riding in UtahMany clients who started with one itinerary, have returned year after year to ride with this same outfitter. Usually they request the same horse selected for them on the first ride, having developed a personal attachment and deep sense of appreciation for the amazing surefootedness, stamina and sensible heads of this outfitter’s horses. I wouldn’t describe them as a particularly beautiful herd, but “pretty is as pretty does” and they are perfectly suited to the rugged terrain and tricky footing of the canyon country.

September and October are ideal times to see this part of the world. The heat of summer has pretty much subsided, the weather is generally dry with cool nights and warm days - perfect riding weather. The cottonwood trees in the canyons and aspen at the higher elevations will begin turning brilliant gold at the end of September. The colors that time of year are almost unbelievable; brilliant blue sky, deep red and apricot sandstone walls, bright green or gold leaves.

The autumn rides usually book full, but for some unknown reason the very popular Three Park Spectacular, October 8-15 has plenty of spaces open.

We’re offering a 10% discount on the ride, dropping the price from $1370 to $1235 per person. E-mail me at ellen@equitours.com if you have questions.

I would like to see this area, and horseback sounds like the best way to get around, but I am not keen on the idea of sleeping on the ground every night.
