Day 2 – We had breakfast quite late in the morning and then mounted up to for the first leg of our ride toward the Estancia San Pedro de Timote. The morning was windy, cloudy and cool with a little rain now and then so we all wore our raincoats, but were quite comfortable once we were going. We were led by Paula who is a professional horse trainer and a charming young lady who spoke English quite well. She was assisted by a picturesque gaucho who was in charge of the horses, but spoke no English. Shortly after noon we stopped for a picnic lunch and a rest. Joselo had brought our picnic in his pickup truck which joined us. When we mounted up again for the afternoon ride we found the terrain excellent for many good long canters along grassy tracks with superb footing and we made good time. By late afternoon we had reached the end of that days ride at a farm where we were leaving the horses for the night and we climbed in our little bus to drive back to El Ceibo for a hot shower and then cocktails before dinner which was another marvelous feast with Tanat wine flowing freely. We turned into quite a boisterous group before the evening was over and were feeling very much at home at this friendly place with such a captivating atmosphere.
